Keeping your Rockville Movers moving

It can be a tough job, moving furniture, boxes, plants and the odd piano or two all day. Sometimes a moving team will have two jobs in one day, depending on distance and start/finish time. Your Rockville moving company may be dedicated and intent on providing the best possible moving services but let’s face it; they’re only human. That’s why it’s always appreciated when a client provides a little extra to help the moving team keep their spirits up.

It benefits the client too, with happy moving teams often working more quickly without even realising it. Here are a few things that you can do to help make the whole moving day experience run more smoothly and happily for everyone involved.

Refreshments

It’s very simple but very effective. When your Rockville movers arrive, have some refreshments ready for them, particularly if it’s going to be a long day. You don’t have to go to any extravagant lengths but some coffee/tea if the weather is cold, or lemonade or iced tea if the weather is hot, would go some distance to keeping everyone happy. At the end of the day, or at lunch, you might have some food too, perhaps pizza or some sandwiches and chips.

Warm/Cool home

This depends on the season, of course, but keeping in mind the working conditions of your Rockville movers would also be appreciated. On winter days, with snow, ice, wind and rain out of doors, it’s nice to be able to pack or move boxes in a warm home so when it comes to your utilities bills, the heating perhaps shouldn’t be cut off until after moving day. In summer, it is the opposite with perhaps an air-conditioned room allowing for your Rockville movers to work in much more comfortable conditions. The upshot of all this, of course, is that nimble fingers – not frozen or sweaty – can get work done more quickly and more safely.

Play some Music

Sometimes our movers in Rockville are treated to some uplifting music while the work is being done. In truth, it probably helps the client to handle the stress of seeing everything being moved out of their home and loaded into a truck. So there is a need to improve the atmosphere for both the person moving and your Rockville movers, who would certainly enjoy a tune to hum along to. The advantage is that, if you should play music for the team, the choice is pretty much yours.

Extra Packing Materials

Just as a matter of possible necessity, it is useful to have some of the packing materials that you were using to pack your boxes yourself close-by. It doesn’t always happen but sometimes a little extra packing needs to be done on moving day. It would be helpful if some of the excess materials left over were available if they were necessary. Moving teams will have all the equipment they need to complete the job, but you’ll never know when a little extra bubble-wrap would come in handy.

Everyone wants moving day to run smoothly but it is a two-sided situation. While none of the suggestions made above are expected, we’d encourage our clients to consider the day from their mover’s point of view and the task facing them. Small gestures are greatly appreciated, but it’s completely up to you what you want to do.

You can talk to our customer services desk if you’d like to know more but remember you can ask about anything related to moving day. Give us a call. We’d be happy to fill you in.
